In this article we explain basics of setting up HTTPS for a Joomla website.
The first and only requirement before proceeding with this guide is to have an SSL certificate activated and installed for your domain on our hosting server. So let's start with the enabling https://
Joomla 2.x
Joomla 3.x
For Joomla 2.x
1. Log into Joomla Administrator panel and navigate to the Global Configuration menu:
2. Go to the Server tab and find Force SSL feature. You can choose one of the available options:
- Administrator Only - this will secure only the backend of your website. This means that only administrator pages will be loaded using https, the frontend will work via http.
- Entire Site - this will secure the entire website and make all the pages work via https. This is the recommended option.
3. Once done, click Save to complete.
For Joomla 3.x

2. Go to the Server tab and locate Force SSL feature. You can choose one of the available options:
