Namecheap Customers Showed Lots of Love!
It’s time to show our appreciation to all of our fantastic customers.
On March 6 everyone at Namecheap celebrated Move Your Domain Day. Together our customers helped us make a sizeable donation to Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF). These funds will help EFF continue their vital work in promoting Internet freedom for all.
Just How Much Money Was Donated?
Namecheap customers transferred 20,590 domains to us on Move Your Domain Day. That means Namecheap will donate $30,885 to EFF to help them with their ongoing efforts to protect Internet access, privacy, and fight online censorship.
Now that’s the way to show your love for Internet Freedom!
Everyone at Namecheap appreciates our customers’ support on this important day, and we’re proud to be able to make such a donation. And even though Move Your Domain Day is over, Namecheap will remain committed to fighting for internet freedom.
Why Donate to EFF?
With the Federal Communications Commission’s decision to end net neutrality in December 2017, we believe that the fight to protect online access and freedom is more important than ever.
Electronic Frontier Foundation is a nonprofit organization that has fought for Internet freedom, privacy, and online civil liberties. Since 1990, they have championed digital rights in the courts and through grassroots organizing, technology development, and public education.
Because of this, Namecheap decided to assist EFF in their ongoing efforts to protect online rights. Our company has always been at the forefront of digital freedom, and over the years we’ve contributed over $350,000 to organizations that fought against SOPA and to protect neutrality, among other causes.
